Hello, I’m a multi-disciplinary artist producing work as hand-made prints and sculptures.
I describes my work as mineralism and I transition from print-based work to sculptural form depending on my artistic focus.
I like to explore materials and their properties employing traditional techniques. Whether mixing rabbit skin glue with clay bole or combining copper leaf with sulphates, my practice investigates the chemical consequences of juxtaposing materials. The work uses architectural forms and the natural world as a starting point for development.
I like to bring a blend of craftsmanship, creativity, and curiosity to every piece I create. This interest in how things are put together stems from my earlier art college training as a sculptor.
I use geometry and repetition throughout my work. Circles are a prominent motif alongside linear flowing forms. In all my work there is a preoccupation with balance, rhythm and stillness which evokes a sense of calm in the viewer.
Although my range of interests is wide ranging I’m especially interested in concepts around House, Field and Flow and the combination of different, often found, materials.
